the coolest totem of them all
Officially The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, JazzFest rivals Mardi Gras for amount of fun to be had (and beats it in terms of quality, in my opinion).
Taking place at the Fairgrounds over the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May, the day-long events regularly draw crowds of over 70,000 people, and musical acts such as: Paul Simon, the Indigo Girls, Lenny Kravitz, the Radiators, the Neville Brothers, Al Green, B.B. King, George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars, Melissa Etheridge, the Dave Matthews Band, Sting, Fats Domino, Jimmy Buffet.....just to name a few. A new day has been added for 2003, so JazzFest is Thursday-Sunday both weekends now. YEAH!!
There are also dozens of food and craft booths, not to mention cold beverages, so a good time is usually had by all......
(the years all kind of blend together....same people, different days)
